MFW: TOD’S SS18

“The impeccable naturalness of an Italian summer” – Tod’s approach to their Spring/Summer 2018 Ready-To-Wear collection. With Kendal Jenner opening the show, Tod’s took their audience to a journey into the glamour of Italian Riviera with nods to Seventies Americano-Italian way.

The brand has been struggling to make their ready-to-wear resonate with women given the variety of competitive brands. Undeniably, impeccable garments made for casual luxury holiday-ing that include hoodies and parkas in slightly heavy animal skin could be a difficult choice for the intended spring/summer season. However, silk tunics and floaty blouses could be the right attire for warm summer days.

Hair and makeup was tousled and sun-kissed by Italian sea breeze. The ready to wear was paired with the comfort of casual footwear: Tod’s SS18 collection of shoes and handbags has left us stunned. Just to mention a few main attractions: the classic Sella bag in snakeskin and extra straps, signature Gommino loafers trimmed with leather fringe, and slim sandals. Obvious trends of the upcoming season are wearing handbags at the back completely, layering two or more handbags at the same time, and XL size has made it’s comeback. Tod’s new collection is nothing but luxurious effortless sophistication.
