As romantic persona myself, I truly enjoy any official celebration of love and wish I could say the same about my husband (Mr. Big) but that’s not the case. Mr. Big is anti-Valentine’s day celebrations as he believes one should celebrate love not on one particular day, but rather everyday. For this reason, my husband and I celebrate our love for an entire month (believe it or not).
To start off our celebrations we were invited to an exclusive spa and dine experience at the recently opened Renaissance Downtown Hotel ahead of the official Valentine’s date which we both enjoyed very much.
The entire experience was centred around spending the day as a couple, engaging in activities rather than materialistic side of the celebrations. It started off by Renaissance Hotel‘s infinity pool with the great view and excellent interior design (as if from the covers of interior design magazines), followed by a unique and revitalizing spa journey at the Six Senses Spa, and finished off by a culinary experience at southern French farmhouse-inspired Bleu Blanc by celebrity chef David Myers.
Six Senses Spa was a unique experience, completely different and very special: something every couple should try at least once, whether for a particular occasion or just as a weekend activity.
For any chosen spa treatment you get a complimentary 30-minute sensory experience based on the suite of your choice. It has total of six treatment suites each dedicated to a different sense, and three of them (The Sight, Sound and Touch Sensory Suites) allow you to share the experience with your partner.
The Spa menu has something remarkable for everyone and each sensory experience is absolutely incredible.
We were offered a relaxing 60 minute signature massage, a 30 minute sensory experience which was later followed by a mouthwatering 3-course dinner with a welcome signature drink at the restaurant.
A carefully selected menu at the Blue Blanc was made for love (all dishes were aphrodisiac central). The ambience of the restaurant was stunning: candle lights everywhere, romantic music and a wooden fireplace. Overall experience works as a sense all together, making it a perfect place to celebrate Valentine’s Day (a must-visit!)
It was exactly what we were looking for because I believe the best kind of gift is time, and what can be more valuable than memorable time spent with a loved one.
